BISHOP ORDAINS TWO NEW PRIESTS, WELCOMES NEW PARISH

The Most Reverend Brian R. Marsh, Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the Northeast, Anglican Church in America (ACA) has ordained two new priests who will serve in the Diocese and has welcomed a new parish into the Church.  The Bishop ordained the Rev. Mr. Arthur Bennett and the Rev. Mr. Dale Bove to the Sacred Priesthood at a special service at Trinity Anglican Cathedral in Rochester, NH on October 1st.  At the Synod held prior to the ordination, he formally admitted and welcomed St. Augustine’s Anglican Church in Elizabeth, NJ into the Diocese. Fr. Bennett was born in Washington DC and is a veteran of the United States Air Force and a former policeman in Fairfax, Virginia.  He has a Bachelor’s degree from the American University in Washington DC and undertook his ministerial education at the Logos House of Theological Studies. He was a missionary school teacher in Honduras and assisted in the development of a girl’s home in that country.  Since 2005, he has served as a Deacon at Good Shepherd Parish in Charlestown, NH and served as a police chaplain on call in that community.  He will serve as Vicar of Christ Church in St. Johnsbury, VT, where he has been Deacon in Charge.

 

Fr. Dale Bove was born in South Buffalo, NY.  He holds a degree from Erie County Community College and undertook his studies at Logos House.  He served in the church as a deacon, vestryman, and Warden.   He was with the Billy Graham Crusade as a counselor in Rochester, NY and was also involved with the Cursillo movement.   In 2004, he helped establish the mission church of Holy Cross in Webster, NY.  He will serve as Assistant Vicar at Holy Redeemer Church, Canandaigua, NY.

 

 

Bishop Marsh also welcomed St. Augustine's Church into the Diocese. The parish, located in Elizabeth, NJ is a large ethnic Hispanic parish under the care of Pastor William Alvarez. The Parish was accepted by unanimous acclamation of the Synod and the Bishop presented the parish with the gift of a new tabernacle for their altar.

CONSERVATIVE ANGLICANS TO MEET IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

Conservative Anglican clerics and laity from the six New England States and New York will meet in New Hampshire this fall, welcoming new parishes and clergy into their midst and ordaining new clergy. The Diocese of the Northeast of the Anglican Church in America, part of the worldwide Traditional Anglican Communion, will hold its annual synod in Rochester, September 29, 30 and Oct 1. The synod is hosted by Trinity Anglican Church, the Diocesan Pro-Cathedral.

 

The Synod and will focus on changes in the Worldwide Traditional Anglican Church, relations with other conservative church bodies, national church issues, church mission, evangelism and youth programs. Clergy, lay ministers and delegates from all of the parishes in the Diocese will gather for the annual business meeting and special worship services, as well as special sessions to deal with the business of the Synod, new parishes and members. The traditional church has seen increasing numbers as other denominations face theological and social challenges.

 

The Anglican Church in America is part of the worldwide Traditional Anglican Communion, with members in 44 countries. The Church seeks to uphold the Catholic Faith, Apostolic Order, Orthodox Worship and Evangelical Witness of the Anglican tradition within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. The Communion holds Holy Scripture and the ancient Creeds of the Undivided Church as authentic and authoritative, and worships according to the traditional Liturgies of the Church. The Right Rev. Brian Marsh, D Min. is the Diocesan Bishop and President of the House of Bishops of the National Church. The Right Rev. and the Rt. Rev. George Langberg is Bishop Emeritus and Vice President of the House of Bishops of the National Church.
