The Rev. Mr. William Alvarez was ordained to the sacred order of deacons on January 28, 2012 at St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Attendance exceeded one hundred and twenty persons.
Pastor Alvarez was presented for ordination by The Very Rev. Robert Ley. Archdeacon Koller read the certificate of ordination and presented Deacon Alvarez with his preaching certificate. The Rev. Alexander "Hendy" Webb served as chaplain and con-celebrant. The Most Rev. Brian Marsh ordained Pastor Alvarez and served as celebrant of the Mass.
A potluck luncheon followed the Mass at which food from eight Latin American countries was served.
St. Augustine's Anglican Church is a largely Hispanic parish. It hopes to offer further Hispanic missions in the greater New York City area.

El tabernaculo fue del Armario de Yorkie, un ministerio memorial de la Diocesis el cual provee articulos necesarios para la adoracion a parroquias y misiones.
Father Alvarez accepted a gift of a new Tabernacle from Father Jeffrey Monroe, on behalf of the Bishop. The tabernacle was from Yorkies Closet, a memorial ministry of the diocese that provides needed worship items to missions and parishes. |
