About Us

The Old Bay Road School, one of Webster's most cherished historical landmarks, was known as District School No. 4. The school district leased the 1 acre for 999 years in 1839. In 1879 a modern one room school building was erected. In 1902 it was enlarged with a second room. It has been a classroom for students, a kindergarten, a storehouse, a recreation center, a conference hall, a senior center and ultimately a church.
Holy Cross Anglican Church rented the building in May 1978 and the first service was June 4, 1978. March 1979 Holy Cross purchased the building. We installed the altar and remodeled inside. The restoration project also included a new roof and siding. Holy Cross Anglican Church has services every Sunday at 10 am with an active congregation. We have been privileged to have been in the old Bay Road Schoolhouse for 31 years.

Holy Cross is located near Rochester New York. Fr. David Ambuske has been our priest since the beginning of our church in 1977.
