BISHOP ANNOUNCES CLERGY CHANGES

Bishop Brian Marsh has announced clergy changes for St. Augustine of Canterbury Church in Old Orchard Beach. The Rev. Prior Kevin Lamarre, OSB, of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows Benedictine Priory in Raymond has been assigned to assist Fr. Jeffrey Monroe, who will remain Vicar. The change is effective January 1st.
"We are very excited to have Fr. Lamarre join us for Sunday Masses," said Fr. Jeffrey Monroe, Parish Vicar. "Fr. Lamarre is a very traditional priest and will use the Anglican Missal for Mass, the foundations of which date back to the common Latin Mass of the undivided Catholic Church of the first millennium." Fr. Monroe and Fr. Lamarre are both graduates of Maine Maritime Academy and studied theology at the Logos House of Theological Studies. They also share the unique distinction of having sailed together on the same ship in the U.S. Merchant Marine. "After all those years traveling the world as sailors, I think God decided our penance would be to become priests," Fr. Monroe concluded. Fr. Lamarre is the Prior of the Benedictine Priory in Raymond and Fr. Monroe is the rector of St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Conway, NH. Both will continue serving those communities.
St. Augustine's is an Anglican Church in America (ACA) Parish, part of the worldwide Traditional Anglican Communion, with members in 44 countries. The parish also serves as a teaching mission for the Logos House of Theological Studies, the ACA seminary located in Ellsworth, Maine. The Church seeks to uphold the Catholic Faith, Apostolic Order, Orthodox Worship and Evangelical Witness of the Anglican tradition within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. The Communion holds Holy Scripture and the ancient Creeds of the Undivided Church as authentic and authoritative, and worships according to the traditional Liturgies of the Church. Along with the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches, it is considered one of the three branches of the universal Catholic Church.
St. Augustine of Canterbury Church worships the Cathedral Pines Chapel located at 156 Saco Ave. in Old Orchard Beach, Maine on Sundays at 10:00 AM and Wednesdays at 7:00 PM.
