This Is My Blood

The Diocese of the Northeast is a vibrant and growing family of parishes in New England and New York State. As members of the worldwide Traditional Anglican Communion, we are part of Christ's One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
Our teaching and practice are based soundly on the Holy Bible and the

traditional Book of Common Prayer.

This Is My Body

In our common worship, we observe the ancient rites of the church through regular prayer and the Holy Eucharist. The liturgy of our church holds us together; it is through common or communal worship that the people of God come together most completely to offer their prayers, sing their praises to God and deepen their spiritual understanding. We encourage all to join with us, to learn the language of our worship and participate in the unique spiritual journey that is the Anglican way.

St. Paul's, Brockton, MA, has regretfully withdrawn as host of the 2013 diocesan synod due to conflicts with ongoing construction schedules.

The Rt Rev Michael Gill, Bishop of Pretoria and Southern Africa, and Secretary of the College of Bishops offers a teaching PowerPoint to use to assist in teaching the Discipline of Fasting, useful to both Youth or older folk.

It is with great joy that we welcome St. Thomas of Canterbury Anglican Church as an associated parish of the Diocese of the Northeast. We wish to express our enthusiasm for their presence among us. It is important for Anglicans to join together for worship, collegial support and prayer.
We firmly believe that it is in the mutual support of clergy, parishes and people that we may more fully realize our commitment to Jesus Christ. We know that St. Thomas of Canterbury will bring the gift of faith that will strengthen our diocese and national church. Our mutual cooperation can only enhance God's Kingdom on earth.
We ask God's blessings on St. Thomas of Canterbury Anglican Church and pray that the clergy and people of this parish know of the warm embrace extended by the faithful Christians of the Diocese of the Northeast.
Blessings to you all in the Name Of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faithfully,
+Brian

World Consultation on The Continuing Anglican Churches Addresses

A PASTORAL LETTER October 24, 2011

"Bishop Grundorf and I were granted voice during the [ACC-OP Synod] proceedings, giving us the opportunity to address synod on any and all issues. We were also invited to deliver formal addresses to the synod. In addition, we were accorded the honor of processing with the Archbishop of the ACC at synod Mass. Clearly, there is a strong emphasis on the growing unity of all major Continuing Anglican jurisdictions."

The Anglican Church in America is a traditional, historic church. We use the ancient offices found in The Book of Common Prayer. The beautiful language of our prayer book draws us closer to God. The continual use of the matchless prayers contained within The Book of Common Prayer offers us a window onto faith, holding us together as a community that meets in Jesus' name.

We believe firmly that, in today's complex and often troubled world, God's love and protection are essential to a healthy physical, moral and spiritual life. We affirm that the Holy Bible contains all things necessary for salvation. We believe that the sacraments represent outward and visible signs of an inward and spiritual grace. It is our lasting commitment to protect the ancient treasures and teachings of the church, recognizing that these treasures provide the only true shelter for our passage through this temporal life. They are indeed gifts from God; it is our task to care for them, to preserve them and to pass them on to other faithful Christians.
